1. About Pressed Flowers by Nell
Pressed Flowers by Nell is a specialist pressed flower studio based in Limerick, Ireland, creating handmade pressed flower artwork, bridal bouquet preservation, sentimental flower preservation, gifts, commissions and workshops.
Our artwork is handmade using natural flowers and materials. Because every piece is individually created by hand, no two pieces will ever be exactly the same.
2. Orders & Commissions
When you place an order or commission a piece of artwork, you are agreeing to the process involved in having your flowers received, pressed, designed and incorporated into a finished piece of artwork by Pressed Flowers by Nell.
For commissioned flower preservation, we will provide information and instructions regarding the preparation, postage or drop-off of your flowers.
We reserve the right to refuse a commission where, in our reasonable opinion, the flowers, materials, requested design or circumstances are unsuitable for the service requested.
3. Your Flowers
3.1 Preparing and sending your flowers
Customers are responsible for following the flower preparation and postage instructions provided by Pressed Flowers by Nell.
Where flowers are posted to us, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the flowers are packaged appropriately and sent using a suitable delivery service.
We are not responsible for damage, deterioration, wilting or loss that occurs to flowers before they are received by us, including damage caused by inadequate packaging, delays, extreme temperatures, courier handling or postal delays.
3.2 Natural flowers
Flowers are natural, living materials and their condition can vary considerably.
Although we take every care when handling and pressing your flowers, we cannot guarantee that every individual flower, petal, leaf or stem will be suitable for pressing or will survive the pressing process.
Flowers may:
- change colour during or after pressing;
- become more delicate as they dry;
- lose petals or small parts;
- bruise, darken or fade;
- respond differently depending on the flower variety, condition and moisture content;
- require trimming, separation or other preparation before being incorporated into artwork.
Some flowers and foliage are naturally more difficult to press than others.
Where necessary, we may make reasonable artistic adjustments to the arrangement of your flowers to achieve the best possible finished result.
4. Design & Artistic Interpretation
4.1 Design consultation
For applicable commissioned pieces, a design consultation will be provided to discuss the overall design, frame, mountboard and other relevant details.
Where a consultation is required, customers will have 7 days following the consultation to confirm any outstanding design decisions.
Where decisions are delayed beyond this period, the completion date may be extended. Delays of approximately 3–4 weeks may apply where we are waiting for customer decisions or approvals.
4.2 Design selection
Once a design has been selected, we will work as closely as reasonably possible to the agreed design.
As each piece is handmade and created using natural flowers, minor adjustments may be necessary at the artist’s discretion.
This may include changes to the position, size, shape or arrangement of individual flowers where necessary to create the best possible finished artwork.
4.3 Handmade artwork
Every piece created by Pressed Flowers by Nell is individually handmade.
Natural variations, small imperfections, differences in flower shape and colour, minor variations in pressing and slight differences between the finished artwork and photographs or design examples are a natural part of handmade flower artwork and are not, in themselves, considered defects.
Examples shown on our website or social media are intended as a guide. Your finished artwork will be unique to your flowers.
5. Preservation & Longevity of Flowers
Pressed flower artwork is intended to preserve and celebrate your flowers for many years.
However, pressed flowers remain natural materials and are not permanently unchanged.
Over time, flowers may naturally fade or change colour. Exposure to direct sunlight, strong artificial light, heat, humidity or unsuitable environmental conditions can accelerate this process.
To help protect your artwork, we recommend keeping it:
- away from direct sunlight;
- away from excessive heat;
- away from damp or humid areas;
- away from radiators or other heat sources; and
- in a stable indoor environment.
While we take every care in the preservation process, we cannot guarantee that natural flowers will retain their original colour indefinitely.
6. Customer Flowers & Ownership
Once received, your flowers are placed in the care and possession of Pressed Flowers by Nell for the purpose of providing the commissioned service.
We reserve the right to retain possession of the flowers and/or completed artwork until the commission has been paid for in full.
Any unused or unsuitable flowers may be retained, returned or disposed of at our discretion, depending on the circumstances and the nature of the commission.
Where a customer specifically requests the return of unused flowers, this should be discussed with us before the commission is completed.
7. Turnaround Times
Our standard bridal flower preservation turnaround is 12 weeks from the customer’s wedding date, provided that:
- the flowers are received within the required timeframe;
- the flowers arrive in suitable condition;
- all required design information has been provided;
- the customer responds to design queries and approvals promptly; and
- all payments are made when due.
The 12-week turnaround may be extended where delays are caused by the customer, including late delivery of flowers, delayed design decisions, requested design changes, delayed responses, outstanding payments or failure to attend a required consultation.
For non-bridal commissions, retail products and other services, the estimated turnaround time will be communicated at the time of purchase or booking.
We will make reasonable efforts to meet stated turnaround times. Where circumstances outside our reasonable control cause a delay, we will communicate this to the customer as soon as reasonably possible.
8. Design Changes & Additional Work
Once a design has been selected, significant changes requested by the customer may result in an additional charge and/or an extension to the completion date.
If additional work, materials, framing, colour changes or other services are requested after the original agreement, we will communicate any additional cost before proceeding where reasonably possible.
9. Prices
All prices displayed on our website are in euro (€) and, where applicable, include VAT at the relevant rate.
Prices may change from time to time. The price applicable to your order will be the price displayed or agreed at the time your order or commission is placed, unless an obvious pricing error has occurred.
Additional charges may apply for:
- postage or delivery;
- international shipping;
- customs charges;
- import duties or taxes;
- requested frame or mountboard upgrades;
- bespoke colour changes;
- significant design changes; or
- other additional services requested by the customer.
Any applicable additional charges will be communicated where reasonably possible before they are incurred.
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, import fees, local taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country.
10. Payment
For commissioned bridal and flower preservation artwork, a deposit is required to secure the booking.
The deposit to secure a bridal booking is a minimum of €250. Any other deposit amount will be stated at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the deposit is applied towards the total cost of the commissioned artwork.
The remaining balance is payable when requested by Pressed Flowers by Nell and, for bridal commissions, before the completed artwork is collected or dispatched.
We reserve the right to withhold delivery or collection of completed artwork until the outstanding balance has been paid in full, subject to applicable consumer law.
11. Deposits & Cancellation of Commissions
Because commissioned artwork involves reserving studio time, preparing materials and undertaking work specifically for an individual customer, deposits are generally non-refundable where the customer cancels for reasons unrelated to a fault or failure on our part.
If a customer cancels a commission after work has commenced, we reserve the right to retain the deposit and charge for work and materials already reasonably undertaken or incurred, subject to applicable consumer law.
Where a commission has been substantially completed or completed, the customer may remain liable for the agreed price, subject to their statutory rights.
We will always aim to deal with cancellations fairly and on a case-by-case basis.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation, refund or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Consultations
Where a consultation is offered as a paid service, the consultation fee is €50 and is fully redeemable against the customer’s commissioned artwork where stated at the time of booking.
As appointment times are limited, advance booking is recommended.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a consultation, we respectfully request at least 24 hours’ notice.
Where a consultation is cancelled, rescheduled or missed without the required notice, a charge of 50% of the consultation fee may apply.
Where applicable, this charge will be communicated at the time of booking.
13. Customer Communication
We rely on customers responding to emails and other communications in a timely manner so that commissions can progress.
If we do not receive a response to a communication relating to an active commission for 30 days, we may send a reminder or warning email.
If there is still no response for a further 30 days, we reserve the right to treat the commission as abandoned and terminate the commission, subject to applicable consumer law.
Where a commission is terminated due to prolonged lack of communication, any deposit or amounts already paid may be retained to cover work, materials and time already incurred, where legally permitted.
We will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer using the contact details provided before taking such action.
14. Finished Artwork & Collection
Customers will be contacted when their artwork is ready for collection or dispatch.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their contact and delivery details are accurate.
Where artwork is collected from our studio, the customer is responsible for collecting it within the agreed timeframe.
If completed artwork remains uncollected for an extended period despite reasonable attempts to contact the customer, we may charge reasonable storage or delivery costs where applicable.
15. Delivery & Postage
Where finished artwork is being delivered, the delivery method and applicable delivery charge will be communicated at the time of purchase.
Orders are generally posted within 1–2 working days.
We take care to package artwork appropriately for transport.
However, once artwork has been handed to an independent courier or postal service, delivery times are outside our direct control.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address.
Additional charges may apply where an order needs to be re-dispatched because an incorrect address was supplied or a delivery could not be completed due to circumstances attributable to the customer.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights where goods are lost, damaged or not delivered in accordance with your contract.
16. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Artwork
We take great care when creating and packaging every piece.
If your artwork arrives damaged, is incorrect, or you believe there is an issue with the artwork or service provided, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photographs and details of the issue.
We will investigate the matter and work with you to find an appropriate resolution.
Where an item is faulty, not as described or does not conform to the agreement, you retain all applicable statutory consumer rights, which may include a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or limits those rights.
17. Returns & Change of Mind
Because commissioned flower preservation artwork is personalised and made specifically for an individual customer, the statutory 14-day online change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to personalised or made-to-order artwork.
For standard, non-personalised products purchased online, any applicable statutory cancellation rights will apply.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, the customer will be provided with the relevant information and cancellation procedure at the time of purchase.
18. Care of Finished Artwork
The customer is responsible for caring for their finished artwork once it has been received.
Pressed flowers are natural materials and will gradually age over time.
We recommend displaying artwork away from:
- direct sunlight;
- excessive heat;
- damp or humid environments;
- bathrooms or areas with high moisture;
- radiators and heating appliances; and
- locations where the frame may be exposed to excessive condensation.
Damage caused by unsuitable storage, accidental damage, misuse, excessive moisture, direct sunlight or normal ageing of natural flowers is not considered a manufacturing defect.
19. Workshops
Workshop bookings are subject to the terms and conditions communicated at the time of booking.
Workshop places are limited and are reserved once payment has been received.
Where a workshop is cancelled or rescheduled by the customer, our cancellation terms for that particular workshop will apply.
For private, corporate or group workshops, the customer or booking organisation is responsible for providing accurate attendee numbers and any relevant information requested by Pressed Flowers by Nell.
Any minimum booking requirements, VAT, travel charges or additional costs will be communicated at the time of booking.
20. Gift Vouchers
Where gift vouchers are available for purchase, they are subject to the terms stated on the voucher and at the time of purchase.
Gift voucher holders should retain their voucher and booking information.
Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
Gift vouchers are valid for two years from the date of purchase. Any other restrictions applicable to a gift voucher will be clearly stated at the time of purchase.
21. Photography & Marketing
We regularly photograph completed artwork for our portfolio, website, social media, press, awards, marketing and promotional purposes.
We may photograph your completed artwork and flowers for these purposes without identifying you personally.
If you do not wish us to use photographs of your artwork for promotional purposes, please let us know in writing before or at the time of your commission.
We will respect reasonable requests regarding the use of photographs.
22. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights relating to the Pressed Flowers by Nell website and original business content remain the property of Pressed Flowers by Nell or the relevant rights holder.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- website design;
- written content;
- photographs;
- graphics;
- logos;
- artwork;
- product names;
- designs;
- illustrations; and
- branding.
No content from our website may be reproduced, copied, modified, sold, distributed or commercially used without prior written permission.
Artwork created by Pressed Flowers by Nell
The customer purchases the physical artwork created for them but does not acquire copyright or other intellectual property rights in the artistic design or composition.
The design, arrangement and artistic composition of commissioned artwork remain the intellectual property of Pressed Flowers by Nell, except where otherwise agreed in writing.
We may create future artwork inspired by our own artistic techniques and compositions, while respecting the customer’s personal flowers and privacy.
23. Website Images & Examples
Images shown on our website, social media and other marketing materials are examples of our work.
Because every commission uses different flowers and is individually handmade, the finished artwork may differ from photographs, examples or previous commissions.
Colours may also appear differently depending on photography, lighting and individual screens.
24. Events Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for delays or failure to perform our services where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
This may include, for example:
- extreme weather;
- fire;
- flooding;
- illness;
- significant postal or courier disruption;
- supplier delays;
- government restrictions;
- interruption to utilities or essential services;
- unforeseen studio or equipment issues; or
- other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where such an event occurs, we will communicate with the customer and take reasonable steps to minimise any delay.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory consumer rights.
25. Privacy
Personal information provided to Pressed Flowers by Nell will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you use our website, place an order or contact us.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or limit any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under Irish law.
Our terms are in addition to your statutory rights and do not replace them.
Where a product or service does not meet the requirements of applicable consumer law, you may have rights including repair, replacement, price reduction, cancellation or refund depending on the circumstances.
28. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland.
Where a customer is a consumer, nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any mandatory rights or protections they may have under the laws applicable to them.
