Caring For Your Artwork
Your artwork should be treated as a piece of fine art.
Keep it away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and areas of high humidity.
Avoid placing it somewhere where it may be exposed to condensation or significant changes in temperature.
With the right care, your pressed flower artwork can be enjoyed for many years.
Pressed flowers are natural materials, so some subtle changes in colour can occur over time.
This is part of the natural character of pressed flower artwork.
Keeping your piece away from direct sunlight will help preserve its colour and condition for as long as possible.

Bereavement
Bereavement Flowers
Bereavement Flowers
Fresh flowers press best, so funeral flowers should reach the studio within a few days of the service. In the meantime, keep them cool, out of direct sunlight and lightly watered if they are still in their arrangement.
If the flowers are already a little past their best, please still get in touch. Nell will always be honest about what can be preserved, and there is often more that can be saved than you might expect.
Both. You can drop the flowers to our Limerick studio by appointment, or post them to us. Once you book we email you the studio’s drop-off details or our address and Nell’s packing instructions.
Choose your mountboard, frame shape, size and colour and one of Nell’s designs on the Bereavement Flowers page, where your options and price update as you go. If you have something more personal in mind, from a family portrait to a favourite tree, Nell can create a completely bespoke piece.
Artwork is usually ready in approximately 12 weeks. We let you know as soon as it is finished, and you can collect it from the studio or have it carefully packaged and delivered to your door.
Bridal
Bridal Bouquet Preservation
Everything you need to know about preserving the flowers that told the story of your day.
Before Your Wedding
We recommend securing your wedding date as early as possible, particularly for weddings during the busier spring and summer months.
Your booking reserves your place within our studio schedule and allows us to plan the time and care your flowers will require after your wedding.
A €250 deposit is required to secure your booking.
Yes! When booking your bouquet preservation, you’ll be asked to select your preferred design, frame size and colour so Nell can begin planning your bespoke piece.
We know it can be difficult to make every decision before your wedding day, so don’t worry if you’re still having a few second thoughts! If you’d like to make changes to your chosen design, you can do so up to six weeks after your wedding date, giving you a little breathing room.
My aim is to make the process as easy and enjoyable as possible, while ensuring every detail is thoughtfully planned to create a keepsake you’ll treasure forever.
Yes. You don’t need to be based in Limerick to have your flowers preserved by Nell.
Flowers can be carefully packaged and posted to our studio, or dropped in by you, a family member, friend or wedding planner.
We’ll provide guidance on how best to care for and transport your flowers so they arrive with us in the best possible condition.
After Your Wedding
The sooner the better.
Fresh flowers naturally begin to wilt and deteriorate once they have been removed from water, so getting them to us promptly gives us the best opportunity to preserve as much of their beauty and character as possible.
Ideally, we’d love to receive your flowers within 5-7 days of your wedding.
If this isn’t possible, don’t panic. Get in touch with us and we’ll advise you on the best way to care for them until they reach the studio.
Keep your flowers in a room temperature area and out of direct sunlight, and place the stems in water if possible.
Avoid leaving your bouquet in extreme temperatures. Eg. Fridge, warm car, beside a radiator or somewhere exposed to heat.
We’ll send you guidance on caring for and preparing your flowers as part of your booking, so you’ll know exactly what to do once the celebrations are over.
Of course.
If you’re heading away after your wedding or simply don’t have time to visit the studio yourself, a family member, friend or supplier can drop your flowers off on your behalf.
Just let us know who will be bringing them in.
Yes.
We work with brides throughout Ireland and internationally, and flowers can be carefully packaged and sent to our studio.
Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll provide you with our flower delivery instructions so you know exactly how to prepare and package your bouquet.
The Preservation Process
Once your flowers arrive at the studio, we carefully prepare each stem before beginning the pressing process.
Your flowers are pressed slowly and carefully, with time allowed for the natural pressing process to take place.
The patience involved is an important part of creating a beautiful, lasting piece of artwork.
Our current turnaround time is approximately 12 weeks.
This gives us the time required to properly press, design and frame your flowers without rushing any stage of the process. Your flowers are handled with love, care and creativity throughout their time in the studio.
Your flowers will always be your flowers – the very bouquet you carried down the aisle, held close as you said “I do”, and perhaps even shed a few happy tears over.
While pressed flowers won’t look exactly as they did when they were fresh, their natural beauty and memories will shine through. The pressing process can change their colour, with some shades softening, deepening or becoming more muted than others.
At Pressed Flowers by Nell, we embrace the natural beauty of every flower rather than trying to make it look like something it isn’t. Each petal is carefully preserved and thoughtfully arranged to create a piece of artwork that captures the essence of your original bouquet.
Because no two bouquets are ever the same, every keepsake is completely unique to you — a little piece of your wedding day to treasure for a lifetime.
Curious to see the transformation for yourself? Visit our Before & After page to see real bridal bouquets before preservation and the finished artwork.
Most flowers can be pressed, but some varieties naturally respond better to the process than others.
With over 10 years of experience working with flowers, including Nell’s background as a trained florist, we have an in-depth understanding of how different blooms behave and how best to preserve their beauty.
One of the benefits of booking your bouquet preservation in advance is that you’ll receive our helpful Flower Guide, which explains which flowers tend to press best and which can be more challenging to preserve. This gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with your flowers ahead of your wedding day.
In some cases, yes.
If your flowers have already dried, send us a photograph or get in touch and we’ll let you know whether they are suitable for us to work with.
Creating Your Artwork
You’ll select your preferred design, frame size and colour when booking your bouquet preservation, allowing us to plan your keepsake in advance.
I know it’s not always easy to make every decision before your wedding day, so if you change your mind, you can make adjustments to your chosen design up to six weeks after your wedding date.
With over 10 years of experience working with flowers, I carefully consider the natural shape, colours and character of your bouquet when creating your artwork. Whether you choose one of our signature designs or a more bespoke arrangement, my aim is to create something truly special that reflects your flowers and the memories they hold.
Every bouquet tells a different story, and I want your finished artwork to feel just as personal and meaningful as the day itself.
Yes.
While we have signature design styles, your flowers are unique and sometimes call for something a little different.
If you have a particular vision, we’d love to hear about it. Nell will work with you to create the piece of your dreams.
Yes.
We can sometimes incorporate sentimental elements such as photographs or other small wedding details, depending on the design you’ve chosen. However, it is recommended that these items are thin so they won’t damage the glass of the frame.
If there’s something meaningful you’d love to include, let us know.
Absolutely! Your wedding memories go far beyond your bridal bouquet, and we’d love to help you preserve those little extra details, too.
Whether it’s your partner’s buttonhole, a bridesmaid’s bouquet, a corsage or flowers from another special person, our add-on frames are perfect for preserving additional blooms alongside your main bridal artwork.
You can choose from our smaller keepsake frames when booking, creating a beautiful way to bring these meaningful flowers together with your own bouquet preservation.
If there’s something specific you’d love to include, simply let us know in your booking notes. We’ll do our very best to help you create a collection of keepsakes that tells the story of your wedding day.
Every bouquet is carefully prepared and preserved before I begin creating your final piece of artwork.
Having worked with thousands of happy brides and their wedding flowers, I have the experience and artistic eye to create a keepsake that celebrates the natural beauty of your bouquet and the memories it holds. I’m so confident you’ll love your finished piece!
However, I want you to be just as happy with your artwork as I am creating it. If there’s anything you’d like adjusted when you see your finished piece, I’m always happy to discuss this with you and make changes where possible.
My aim is for you to receive a truly special keepsake that you’ll be proud to display in your home and treasure for a lifetime.

When booking, you’ll be able to explore our available sizes and prices to find the option that feels right for you. If you’re unsure, don’t worry – I’m always happy to guide you towards a size that complements your bouquet and brings your vision to life.
Every piece of artwork is finished using professional, gallery-quality frames, made to order to complement your flowers and beautifully showcase your finished keepsake.
Our frames are made using wood sourced from sustainably managed forests in Ireland, reflecting our commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship and sustainable choices.
