From Wedding Bouquet to Forever Keepsake: The Before & After

One of my favourite parts of my job is seeing the joy and comfort our Brides get when they see the transformation from the original wedding bouquet to the finished pressed flower artwork.

When a bride trusts me with her bouquet, a bouquet that has just been part of one of the biggest days of her life. Its a huge honour to work on it for 12 weeks.

Over the 12 weeks those flowers become something irreplaceable – a piece of artwork that she can keep forever. A family heirloom.

A piece of artwork that she can keep forever. A family heirloom.

I thought it would be lovely to share a couple of recent before and afters with you.

Ritikaโ€™s bouquets arrived at the studio as a beautiful collection of fresh wedding flowers, and my job was to carefully take it apart, press each flower and foliage piece individually, and then bring everything back together again as a completely new piece of artwork.

And this is where the magic happens.

I always say that pressing flowers isnโ€™t simply about putting flowers into a frame. Itโ€™s about looking at the bouquet as a whole and working out how we can tell the story of the day through the flowers.

Every flower has to be carefully considered – where it sits, how it balances with the others, what colours work together and how we can make sure the finished piece still feels like your bouquet.

And then we have Clodaghโ€™s beautiful bouquet.

Every bouquet that comes through my studio is completely different, which is one of the reasons I never get bored of what I do!

The finished piece is designed using the flowers that came from Clodaghโ€™s wedding day, so although two brides might choose the same frame size or a similar style, their finished artwork will never be exactly the same.

And thatโ€™s what makes it so special.

A few things I always tell my brides

Your flowers donโ€™t have to be perfect

Please donโ€™t worry if your bouquet has started to wilt, if a few petals have bruised or if some flowers have seen better days by the time they reach me. I work with real wedding flowers, and part of my job is knowing how to work with what arrives.

Send them as soon as you can

I always recommend getting your flowers to me within 5 days of your wedding. The sooner I can start working with them, the better.

Your finished piece is created especially for you

I donโ€™t just press your flowers and pop them into a frame. I carefully select, arrange and design your flowers into a piece of artwork that reflects your bouquet.

And now, Iโ€™m SO excited about our brand-new website because weโ€™ve made this whole part of the journey even more exciting.

You can now build your design as you go. ๐Ÿ™‚

Youโ€™ll be able to choose your frame, explore your options and see your piece come together as you make your selections. Itโ€™s interactive, easy to follow and designed to make choosing your forever keepsake feel like part of the fun.

Because I donโ€™t think preserving your wedding flowers should feel complicated.

It should feel exciting and collaborative.

You spent so much time choosing your flowers, your bouquet and all those little details for your wedding day. So I want choosing how youโ€™ll remember them forever to be just as special.

Iโ€™m so excited for you to see the new website and, most importantly, to see all the beautiful flowers that are going to come through the studio next. ๐Ÿค

If a bride can dream it, I can create it.

With love,
